The Avett Brothers

The Avett Brothers, three-time GRAMMY Award nominees, continue to leave an indelible mark on the music world with their heartfelt lyrics, genre-blending sound, and dynamic performances. Their 2009 major label debut, I And Love And You, introduced them to mainstream audiences and received widespread critical acclaim, landing at #16 on the Billboard Top 200. The band continued their success with The Carpenter (2012) and Magpie And The Dandelion (2013), both debuting in the Billboard Top 5. In 2016, they were inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame, cementing their status as a defining force in Americana music.

The 2017 documentary May It Last: A Portrait of The Avett Brothers, co-directed by Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfiglio, chronicled the creation of their acclaimed album True Sadness, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Albums chart and earned two GRAMMY nominations. The film received critical praise and has become a fan favorite.

In 2019, they released Closer Than Together, featuring the chart-topping single “High Steppin’.” Their follow-up album, The Third Gleam (2020), debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Americana/Folk Albums, Rock Albums, and Vinyl Albums charts. Despite challenges brought by the pandemic, the band innovated by hosting drive-in shows and a virtual New Year’s Eve concert, connecting with fans worldwide.

In 2022, their musical Swept Away, inspired by their music and featuring songs from their discography, premiered at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre to critical and audience acclaim. The musical’s success led to its Broadway debut in 2024, further showcasing the band's artistry beyond traditional music avenues.

Their latest self-titled studio album, released in 2024 and produced by Rick Rubin, marks a creative evolution for the band. Featuring the poignant single “Love of a Girl,” the album reflects their continued ability to push boundaries while staying true to their roots.

The Avett Brothers remain one of the most beloved and enduring acts in modern music, captivating audiences with their intimate storytelling, electrifying performances, and ability to evolve while staying deeply connected to their fans. With a legacy that spans nearly two decades, they continue to write the next chapter of their remarkable career.
